NEW YOGA CLASSES

new class alertWe are happy to announce that starting today we will be offering a 75min  Vinyasa Flow Levels 1 & 2 Yoga Class with Danielle Haymore. Beginning Saturday the 24th Danielle will also be teaching at 12:15, this is also a 75min Vinyasa Flow Levels 1&2. Two new morning classes have been added this month, Tuesday  at 10:30 with Denyse and Friday at 9:30 with Cyndi, both of these classes are Vinyasa Flow Levels 1 & 2.

10/06/18 Meditative Sound Healing, 3:-4:30 PM

 

Dr. Laura Sabados will conduct the healing session to create a freer flow of energy throughout your chakras, aura, and physical body using the sound healing frequencies of Solfeggio tuning forks and various singing bowls. We will begin with meditation techniques to ground yourself, clear your mind, and release emotions and energies that are impeding the flow of energy and creating blockages. Laura will use each of the tuning forks with the group, and also read each participants’ energy and provide additional sound healing interventions based on their specific needs. We will end with singing bowls before finishing our meditation session.

$20. No experience is needed. No supplies are needed as this will be a seated meditation session. Please arrive a few minutes early to arrange seating.

Cyndi Reames presents a Bryan Kest inspired practice that aids in opening tight hips and releasing tension with the use of props. A seated class that is well suited for beginners and experienced Yogis.

The hips are emotionally charged, a place where we store some of our deepest vulnerabilities.

The Center provides use of mats and all props needed.

10/16/18 – 7:30-8:30,  Self-Defense Scenarios,  Fee $5

 

This class will focus on various scenarios and self-defense through the Wing Chun Kung Fu martial art style. Scenarios will include open handed attacks, blunt weapon attacks, and knife attacks. The class will also introduce some Wing Chun basics such as the center line punch, low kicks, and stance.

This class is open to all fitness levels, ages 13+.

Wing Chun Kung Fu is a low-impact style that focuses on relaxation, structure, and forward intention for efficiency and power.

About the Instructor: Juanita Pickeral has been studying Wing Chun Kung Fu for over 10 years under the Chu Shong Tin lineage. She earned her black sash through Sifu Trevor Haines in Dojo Chattanooga, TN.

Deep Hips ~ Rescheduled

Due to the recent hurricane Cyndi had to reschedule her travel plans, which unfortunately is the 1st week of October. Cyndi will be offering the “Deep Hips” class the second Thursday of October, the 11th and at a new time, 5:45.  Next class will be Thursday, November 1 at 5:45.  Our apologies for any inconvenience. 

Join Cyndi Thursday, October 11 at 5:45 for “Deep Hips”. This class is based on the Bryan Kest “Long Slow Deep” practice. Using props, students will be guided through a series of poses designed to reduce tension and open up the hip area. Tension usually starts in your neck and shoulders, if not resolved settles in your hips, this practice will help reduce that tension.

Mats, block, bolsters and blankets are provided.

New to The Center Wing Chun Kung Fu

We are so excited to welcome Juanita Pickeral to the Center and have her share her passion and expertise in Wing Chun Kung Fu.

Wing Chun Kung Fu is a Chinese Martial Arts self-defense style that focuses on relaxation, structure, and forward intention for efficiency and power. This style is considered a “soft” style and is low impact and can help with flexibility, focus and balance. Wing Chun Kung Fu is suitable for any age and fitness level.

Current class schedule: Sunday, 1-3:30  Please contact Juanita for pricing and to sign up for class in advance as space is limited.

We say goodbye to August and welcome September, and hopefully cooler weather.

September is looking to be a busy month at The Center, we hope you will join us for these wonderful events!

September 6, Tuesday at 5:30 – 6:45 ~ Deep Hips with Cyndi.  This Bryan Kest inspired class offers the benefits of getting deep into major joints like the hips, knees and shoulders.  Perfect for beginners and experienced yogis.  Regular Class Price

September 20, Thursday at 7:00 -7:30 ~ Celebrate the changing of the season. Relax to the vibrations of singing bowls in a comfortable seat or rest in savasana, if space allows. Please arrive by 6:50 to allow time to settle in. Doors will be locked at 7:00. Event is FREE
